Another Hawk Leaves the Nest, Committing to a 4 Year University

Sacramento, CA-Hailing from Liberty Ranch High School in Galt, CA, Bethie Smith is now transferring to Midway University to play volleyball for the Eagles. Standing at 6'0, Bethie played Middle Blocker for the Hawks during her two-year tenure at Cosumnes River College.

During her two years, Bethie played in 52 matches, and 187 sets. As result, Smith had 200 kills, and 102 blocks. In just one year, the total blocks from Smith went from  37 to 102. Rare for a middle, Bethie  totaled 94 digs, with 63 coming during her Sophomore campaign. Smith leaves CRC with the distinction of being second in career blocks.

"It is a testament to the work ethic of Bethie. She played well during her first season, but we definitely saw a whole different Bethie in year two. It was obvious that she put the work in and the results showed. It isn't often that you see blocks almost triple in just one season. We are confident that Bethie will continue to work hard and be an asset to Midway University. We are proud of the work that she has put in and she is able to reap the benefits and transfer on to continue her volleyball career."
