This Week: The #13 seed Hawks will take on the #20 seed Los Medanos College in the first round of the CCCAA Volleyball Championship. The first round starts on Saturday and the Hawks/Mustangs match-up is at 6 pm.

Scouting the Mustangs: The Mustangs finished the regular season with a 19-12 record. They were second in the Bay Valley Conference with a 10-2 record in conference play. Noelle Mixon led the Mustangs in kills with 495. Brooke Slous leads the Mustangs with 9.3 assists per set.

Scouting the Hawks: The Hawks had a 16-11 overall record and were fifth in the Big 8 Conference with a record of 7-9. Erin Chelini led the Hawks in kills with 247. Nicole Risch leads the Hawks with 7.6 assists per set.

Last Time Out: The two teams played each other this season on August 30^th. The Hawks won the matchup 3-1.

About The Coaches:
Kari Nahlen has been the head coach at Cosumnes River for the last eight seasons. Prior to Cosumnes River, she was head coach at Pasadena City College in 2015 and was assistant coach at Pasadena City in 2013 and assistant coach at Citrus College in 2012.

Lou Panzella is in his 12^th year as head coach of the Mustangs. Prior to Los Medanos, he coached at Antioch High School in 1988 and at Deer Valley High School from 1996-2015.
