This Week: The #13 seed Hawks will take on the #4 seed Sierra College Wolverines in the round of the CCCAA Volleyball Championship. The second round starts on Tuesday and the Hawks/Wolverines match-up is at 7 pm.

Scouting the Wolverines: The Wolverines finished the regular season with a 21-6 record. They were third in the Big 8 Conference with a 12-4 record in conference play. Taylor Stolz led the Wolverines in kills with 344. Jordyn Deter leads the Wolverines with 7.68 assists per set.


Scouting the Hawks: The Hawks had a 17-11 overall record and were fifth in the Big 8 Conference with a record of 7-9. Erin Chelini led the Hawks in kills with 255. Nicole Risch leads the Hawks with 7.6 assists per set.

Last Time Out: The Hawks and Wolverines have played each other twice this season. The Wolverines won both matchups this season – 3-0 on September 29th at Clark Court and 3-1 on November 1st in Rocklin at William Jessup University.

 

The two teams have eight common opponents – American River College, Butte College, Diablo Valley College, Folsom Lake College, Modesto Junior College, Sacramento City College, San Joaquin Delta College and Santa Rosa Junior College. Kari Nahlen has been the head coach at Cosumnes River for the last eight seasons. Prior to Cosumnes River, she was head coach at Pasadena City College in 2015 and was assistant coach at Pasadena City in 2013 and assistant coach at Citrus College in 2012.
