Falcons Fly Past Cosumnes River to Secure Series Win

The Folsom Lake Falcons capped off a strong series with a decisive 10-5 victory over Cosumnes River, taking two of three games in their matchup. A dominant offensive display and solid pitching paved the way for the Falcons to claim the win on the road.

After falling behind 1-0 in the second inning, Folsom Lake responded quickly in the third. Connor Barth sparked the rally by scoring on an error, and Quincy Malbrough followed with a solo home run to put the Falcons ahead 2-1. The offense continued to roll in the fifth, where Folsom Lake broke the game open with a four-run inning, highlighted by Malbrough's RBI double and Julian Clevelle's run-scoring single.

The Falcons kept their foot on the gas in the sixth, tacking on three more runs. Clevelle's two-run double and Bennie Dyer's RBI single extended the lead to 9-1. Cosumnes River fought back in the bottom of the sixth, with Brayden Murua blasting a two-run homer, but it wasn't enough to slow down Folsom Lake.

Pitching was another key factor in the Falcons' victory. Starter Noah Kenney delivered 5.2 strong innings, allowing just two earned runs while striking out five. Relievers Ryder Slatten and Jarren Ekkelboom combined to close out the final frames, holding Cosumnes River to just one more run.

Folsom Lake added an insurance run in the ninth when Christian Cochran crossed home plate on a passed ball, sealing the 10-5 win. Malbrough finished the day with three hits, including a homer and a double, while Clevelle also collected three hits and drove in three runs.

With this victory, the Falcons wrapped up the series win, taking two out of three games against Cosumnes River. Folsom Lake's balanced offensive attack and resilient pitching staff made the difference, giving them a key momentum boost early in the season.

The Falcons will look to build on this performance as they prepare for their next matchup. With their bats heating up and their pitching staff finding its rhythm, Folsom Lake is poised to make a strong push moving forward.
