Pair of 21 Point Efforts Lift Hawks to 9th Win to End Preseason

Fairfield, CA - Looking to end their preseason with a win, the Hawks traveled to take on the Falcons of Solano College. The Hawks started off slow trading buckets with the Falcons, but ultimately the offense for the Hawks came alive in the second half. Down 41-46 to start the second half, the Hawks turned up the intensity on both ends of the court. Cosumnes River College controlled the game in the second half, outscoring their opponent 50-28 to bring home their 9th victory on the season. Heading into conference play against the BIG 8 Conference is no small task, but the Hawks currently sit on top of the standings. 

On offense, the Hawks had 5 players score double-digit points in the game. Sophomores Dillon Iyawe and Andre Huddleston both tallied 21 point efforts. Huddleston picked up his second 20+ point game while shooting 9-16 from the field, while collecting 7 rebounds, 5 assists and a pair of steals. Iyawe had his 3rd 20+ point game on the young season, while shooting 8-12 including 5-8 from the line. This maks Iyawe's 9th double-double game with him grabbing 18 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 2 assists. Dillon is currently averaging 14.8 points per game with 13.3 rebounds per game. 

Freshmen Ja'Rod Webb and Patrick Parkes Jr. both chipped in solid games with 13 points apiece. Webb shot 5-8 from the field including 50% from the three point line. Parkes Jr. tallied 6 assists, and 4 rebounds while shooting 6-7 from the floor. Kaleb Drake added 11 points on 4-7 shooting, while grabbing 4 rebounds. 

Up Next - The Hawks (9-3) move from one Falcons team to another by taking on Folsom Lake College (6-5). This will be the first conference game for the Hawks this season, with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 PM. Fans are not allowed in attendance for the game due to the district's COVID-19 protocols.
