This Week: The Hawks drew Gavilan College in the first round of the CCCAA Men's Basketball Championship. The first round will start on Wednesday and the Hawks-Rams matchup is on Wednesday at 7 pm

Scouting the Hawks:  Cosumnes River was selected as the #15 seed with a 16-12 overall record and a 9-7 record in Big 8 Conference play. Isaiah Griffin leads the Hawks in scoring with 17.2 points per game.

Scouting the Rams: The Rams finished fourth in the Coast Conference-South Division with a 12-16 overall record and a 6-6 record in conference play. Fabian Reichstadt leads the Rams in scoring at 16.3 points per game.

Last Time Out: This is the second meeting between the two schools this season. The Hawks defeated the Rams 87-81 on November 15^th at Clark Court. They have six common opponents in Columbia College, Las Positas College, Los Medanos College, Ohlone College, San Joaquin Delta College and Shasta College. The Hawks have a 3-5 record against those opponents while the Rams finished with a 4-2 record against those opponents. 

About The Coaches:

Jonathan James is in his eighth year of coaching men's basketball at Cosumnes River. Prior to Cosumnes River, he was an assistant with Cosumnes River and Las Positas College. He was also the head junior varsity coach at Valley High School and the varsity assistant at Pleasant Grove High School.

Henry Anyiam is in his first year coaching at Gavilan.
