Hawks Look to Extend Seven Game Win Streak

With three games this week, the Cosumnes River College (CRC) Hawks (11-5) are looking to keep momentum on their side as they face the Sacramento City Panthers (16-2) and the Folsom Lake Falcons (15-1). On Tuesday, February 25th the Hawks will travel to Sacramento to play the Panthers at 3:00 P.M. for a single game. CRC will travel to Folsom to take on the Falcons for a double header with the first game slated for 12:00 P.M. and the second game at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, February 28th.

Coach Schroeder previewed the week saying, "Sac City is always good competition for us. We are looking forward to getting some good pitching and timely hitting again this week. Folsom Lake is good at recruiting and getting players to their program. They have a good record but if we come in and play our game against them, we will have a good chance to win."

The Hawks have won via run rule in four of their last seven games during their current win streak. Three of those wins have come on shutouts from the Hawks pitching staff. Sophomore Becky Pedersen (Ukiah HS/Ukiah, CA) looks to continue dominating in the pitcher's circle with a record of 4-1 and an ERA of 3.19. Offensively, freshman Leandra Coronado (Monterey Trail HS/Elk Grove, CA) leads the Hawks with a batting average of .449.
