Sacramento, CA - Despite a shortened season due to COVID-19, a trio of Hawks have made the decision to transfer on and continue their playing careers at the four-year level. The Hawks will be tasked next season trying to replace the three starters who made solid contributions in the short season. 

 

# 00 Alyssa Pinto

Alyssa Pinto transferred to CRC after originally redshirting a year at Ole Miss and attending Lodi High School her senior season. Pinto spent one short season with the Hawks, she will be continuing her playing career at San Diego State University in Southern California. Pinto was the primary 1b for the Hawks and made strong contributions on both offense and defense. Alyssa contributed a .245 batting average while leading the team with 10 walks, and scoring 17 runs for the Hawk offense. Pinto added 3 stolen bases, and only struck out once on the season. Not to be outdone on defense, Alyssa had a .974 fielding percentage while anchoring first base for CRC.

# 18 Becky Pedersen

Becky Pedersen was a two year starting pitcher for the Hawks. Pedersen came to CRC from Ukiah High School, and is set to transfer to Dordt College in Iowa to continue her softball career. Pedersen led the team in starts with 13 along with 2 complete games and helped lead the Hawks to 6 wins. Becky racked up 21 strikeouts while contributing a strong 3.25 earned run average. #18 also contributed on the offensive end with a .250 batting average. Becky Pedersen helped anchor a CRC pitching staff despite facing strong competition this season. 

# 50 Crystel Ruaro

A graduate of John Swett High School, Crysten (Telly) Ruaro was a two year starter at  catcher for the Hawks. Telly transferred this fall to the University of St. Katherine in San Marcos, CA. Ruaro is orginally from John Swett High School and has played for the Hawks for the past two seasons. Crystel contributed on both the offensive and defensive side for the Hawks. Ruaro posted a .462 average and caught 18 games for CRC. Ruaro was coming on strong before the season was postponed by contributing a .982 fielding percentage. 

Cosumnes River College and Head Coach Kristy Schroeder are extremely of these young women and are excited to see them continue to excel both on and off the field. We wish them all the best of luck as they continue on in their athletic and academic careers.
