Pitcher Ashlee Toy was named Pitcher of the Week by the 3CFCA for the week running February 26-March 5. Toy led the 12th-ranked Hawks to three wins during the week, two over Modesto Junior College and one over Santa Rosa Junior College. Against Santa Rosa, Toy struck out seven and shut out the Bear Cubs 8-0 over five innings. In the first game against Modesto, Toy struck out 11 in a complete-game shut-out win. In game two against the Pirates, she came on in relief and struck out three in a save.
"Ashlee was dominant last week, so she was very deserving of this recognition," said head coach Kristy Schroeder. "She has been great for us all year, not just on the mound, but also offensively and in the field."
On the season, Toy is 10-2 with 73 strikeouts and a 1.11 ERA. She is the first Hawk to win Pitcher of the Week since Amanda Horbasch in 2015.
CRC returns to action this weekend against College of San Mateo and Fresno City College.
