Hawks Win Sixth Straight 7-0 Over Modesto

The Cosumnes River Hawks maintained its hold on second place in the Big 8 Conference with a 7-0 victory over Modesto Junior College this afternoon at the CRC Softball Field.

Tatiana Blas continued her dominance in the circle throwing a one-hitter against the Pirates. She had nine strikeouts and pushed her season record to 9-2.

"Tatiana pitched great. Modesto really never threatened, and she was in command of all of her pitches," said head coach Kristy Schroeder.

Offensively, Malia Babasa scored three runs to lead the Hawks. Eden Hobart was 2-3 with two RBI and Brooke Hanson went 3-4 with an RBI.

"We strung some hits together today and capitalized when we had runners in scoring position.," added Schroeder. "Overall, I was happy that we kept attacking them almost every inning."

CRC improved to 21-5 on the season and look to add to their six-game winning streak when they travel to Santa Rosa Junior College on Thursday for a double header.
