This Week: The #3 seed Hawks advanced to the CCCAA Softball State Championship where they will take on the #4 seed Mt. San Antonio College. The first pitch of the Hawks/Mounties game will be at 2 pm.
Scouting the Hawks: Cosumnes River came in second in the Big 8 Conference regular season standings with a 33-7 overall record and a 20-4 record in conference play. Malia Babasa leads the Hawks with a .421 batting average. Sophomore Tatiana Blas leads the Hawks in ERA with a 1.44 ERA.
Scouting the Mounties: Mt. San Antonio finished with a 32-8 overall record and finished first in the South Coast Conference with a 18-3 record in conference play. Freshman Morgan Kneubuhler leads the Mounties with a .470 batting average. Sophomore Aleyna Urbina leads the Mounties with a 1.66 ERA.
Last Time Out: This will be the first meeting between the two schools this season.
The two teams have three common opponents – College of San Mateo, Cypress College and San Joaquin Delta College. The Hawks are 0-5 against those opponents while the Mounties went 1-3.
