Hawks Drop Single Conference Game to #14 Modesto Junior College

Coming off of a 4-game winning streak in conference play, Cosumnes River fell 5-2 to the 14th-ranked Modesto Junior College Pirates. Despite a late rally by CRC in the sixth inning, Modesto built an early 5–0 lead, with Sophia Coronado scoring three times and Emily Tyler driving in two RBIs.

CRC broke through in the sixth when Bella Harpster and Abigail Woodfill scored on Isabella Hall's two-RBI single, cutting the lead to 5–2. However, Modesto's defense shut down any further scoring.

Hall led the offense with her 1-for-3 performance and two RBIs. Harpster, Woodfill, and Mariah Hopkins each added hits. Marissa Alders pitched 5.1 strong innings in relief, allowing just one earned run. Despite the loss, CRC showed resilience and will look to improve as they continue their conference play in a double header at home, Friday, March 21 at 12 and 2 pm against Santa Rosa. With the loss, CRC falls to 4-4 in conference and 11-11 overall.
