Cosumnes River College wrapped up its regular season with a dominant 10–1 road win over Santa Rosa on Tuesday, fueled by a relentless offensive attack, and a strong outing in the circle by Marissa Alders.
Alders was sharp from the start, throwing a complete five-inning game while allowing just two hits and one earned run, striking out five, and walking only one to earn the win.
At the plate, CRC continued to ride the hot bat of Mariah Hopkins, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, three RBIs, and two runs scored. Abigail Woodfill added to the scoring with a bases-clearing double, finishing 1-for-3 with three RBIs. Kalani Hernandez chipped in with a 2-for-3 day that included a double and an RBI, while Charlize Fasula collected two hits, an RBI, and two stolen bases. Clare Yanez also recorded a multi-hit game and drove in a run.
The Hawks jumped out early, scoring two in the first, then exploded for six runs in the third to put the game out of reach. They added two more in the fourth to cap off a 12-hit offensive display, while playing error-free defense.
The win secures 3rd place in the Big 8 Conference for Cosumnes River College. The team will find out its playoff opponent during the 3C2A Coaches Meeting this Saturday at the College of San Mateo.
