Eleven points down with 4 minutes to go is quite the mountain to climb, but the Hawks did climb and had the treasure in their grasp but it slipped away with a small mistake that turned out to be huge. 

The Hawks outscored Santa Rosa 20-10 in the fourth quarter but that 21st point couldn't be had. Trailing 51-48 the Hawks Gina Ingravallo intercepted a Bear Cub pass and was fouled for two shots. Ingravallo made the first and in a calculated move missed the second and the Hawks luck held as Santa Rosa couldn't hold on to the rebound giving the Hawks the ball back for a three point shot attempt. Inbounding to Gravallo for the three pointer, a foul was called giving her three foul shot attempts with one second left. After making the first two shots to tie the game the Hawks were whistled for a lane violation nullifying the final shot at a regulation victory.

CRC held Santa Rosa to just 2-16 field goals in the fourth quarter but the Hawks were outscored 13-7 in overtime as the Bear Cubs held on for the 64-58 win.

The Hawks were led by Ingravallo's 16 points and by Daija Ward who matched her with 16 points and added 4 rebounds. Both Taneisha Dyer and Jasmine Chapman hed 8 points for the Hawks with QuoQuese Jackson leading the way on the boards with 7. Ingravallo and Nayani Gordon each had 5 in the losing effort.

The Hawks were hampered by the fact that four players fouled out during the game as Dyer, Gordon, Ward, and Jackson were all whistled for five fouls.

The Hawks are now 6-17 on the season with a 2-7 record in Big 8 action.
