This Week: The Hawks will take on College of the Siskiyous in the first round of the CCCAA Women's Basketball Championship. The first round will start on Wednesday and the Hawks-Eagles matchup is at 5:30 pm
Scouting the Hawks: Cosumnes River was selected as the #19 seed with an 18-10 overall record and a 9-7 record in Big 8 Conference play. Saray White leads the Hawks in scoring with 20.8 points per game.
Scouting the Eagles: The Eagles finished third in the Golden Valley Conference with a 17-10 overall record and a 5-3 record in conference play. Alexes Collier leads the Eagles in scoring at 18.3 points per game.
Last Time Out: This is the second meeting between the two schools this season. The Hawks defeated the Eagles 79-62 on December 5th at Clark Court. They have seven common opponents – Butte College, College of the Redwoods, Folsom Lake College, Foothill College, Pasadena City College, Sacramento City College and Skyline College. The Hawks are 5-4 against those opponents while the Eagles are 9-4 against those opponents.
About The Coaches:
Sam Kirby is in his third year of coaching women's basketball at Cosumnes River. Prior to Cosumnes River, he was an assistant coach at Sacramento State (2021-22), Seattle University (2018-21), Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (2011-18), Cañada College (2010-11) and Shoreline Community College (2008-10).
Noelle Collier is in her fourth year of coaching the Eagles. She previously was an assistant at College of the Siskiyous and San Bernardino Valley College.
