Brittany Shine is entering her first season as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Cosumnes River College.

Brittany Shine has had a strong passion for basketball since she was young. She has been playing since she was 4 years old, so basketball has always been very special to her. Her experience includes over 20 years of playing competitive basketball, including 5 years in NCAA Division 1 Basketball.

Shine successfully played with the University of Florida and University of California Berkeley Women’s Basketball program.   Shine earned SEC Freshman of the Week and Tournament MVP honors in the Gator Holiday Classic, scoring 28 points in her first collegiate start.

Not only has Shine played competitive basketball for over 20 years and played for Division 1 Basketball teams but continued her career after college playing Professionally  overseas for numerous teams and countries  including Iraq , Egypt, Portugal, China with the USA Select Team, Spain,Turkey , Cyprus, Morocco, and Tunisia .

Off the court, Shine is a high energy basketball trainer and coach. The energy and encouragement she displays are key attributes to her leadership role on and off the court. Brittany Shine believes in giving it her very best and striving for continuous success, interpersonally and professionally as a basketball player.

In High School, ESPN HoopGurlz ranked her the No. 88 best player in the country and was as high as NO. 06 by All-Star Girls Report. Shine was a 2010 McDonalds' All-American Game nominee, as well as a 2010 Sacramento Bee Player of the Year. She received the Metro League Player of the Year, named to the All-NorCal First Team, and was a four-time First-Team All-Metro selection. Shine also ran track in High School anchoring the 4x100 and 4x400 relays, while running the 100m and 200m.

Shine graduated from University of California, Berkeley in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in American Studies, and a minor in African American studies.
