Hawks Have Back to Back Wins

Sacramento, Calif. Lady Hawks hosted Sacramento City College looking for back to back home wins. Lady Hawks did not disappoint with a 4-1 victory.

Hawks scored early and often Tuesday against SCC. The scoring began in the 6th minute of the game when freshman Jaeda Wilson finished a cross from freshman right back Marissa Regla. SCC did not give up and battled making the Hawks work for their chances. In the 20th minute SCC was rewarded for their efforts as the were rewarded a penalty kick. Game tied 1-1, but the Hawks did not falter on this day. They fought hard and in the 31st minute freshman Nariyah O'Brien went on a brilliant solo run that ended with her striking a ball from 30 yards out that ended in the back of the net. Hawks back up 2-1. Wasting no time freshman captain Kathryn Rocha pushed the ball up the field, after bating a few SCC players she drilled a ball far post that beat the SCC keeper to make 3-1 in the 33rd minute. 

Second half of the match was a back and forth half with both sides creating chances. In the 87th minute Kathryn Rocha settled a cleared ball by the SCC defense and she ripped a laser from 40 yards out beating the keeper for the 2nd time in the match to make it 4-1.

Next up for the Lady Hawks they will travel to American River College for a Friday night showdown under the lights at 6pm. The lady Hawks look to extend the winning streak against ARC.
