SACRAMENTO (1-29) – Cosumnes River hosted their first match of the year as they took on Shasta College. The Knights won four of the six singles matches that were played and defeated the Hawks 5-4.

The Hawks finished the 2018 season 0-10 while the Knights finished 0-6.

The Knights won four singles matches while the Hawks won two. In the #5 singles match between Hannah Dinkins of Cosumnes River and Abigail Davis of Shasta, Dinkins defeated Davis 6-0, 6-0. In the #6 singles match between Evelyn Bravo of the Hawks and Ivory McCain of the Knights, Bravo defeated McCain 6-2, 6-2. In the #1 singles match between Krista Le of Cosumnes River and Mary DiMaggio of Shasta, DiMaggio defeated Le 1-6, 7-5, 6-0.  In the #2 singles match between Salma Prasad of the Hawks and Julissa Espinoza of the Knights, Espinoza defeated Prasad 6-3, 6-2. In the #3 singles match between Angela Hurtado of Cosumnes River and Sarah Weatherby of Shasta, Weatherby defeated Hurtado 5-7, Forfeit. The tightest singles match of the day was the #4 singles match between Paola Barron-Zamora of the Hawks and Sierra Carnegie of the Knights, Carnegie defeated Barron-Zamora 2-6, 7-5, 7-5.

The Hawks won two doubles matches while the Knights won one. In the #3 doubles match between Bravo and Prasad of Cosumnes River and Davis and McCain of Shasta, Bravo and Prasad defeated Davis and McCain 8-0. The tightest matches were the #1 doubles match between Dinkins and Hurtado of the Hawks and DiMaggio and Espinoza of the Knights and the #2 doubles match between Barron-Zamora and Le of Cosumnes River and Carnegie and Weatherby of Shasta. The #1 doubles match was won 9-7 by DiMaggio and Espinoza and the #2 doubles match was won 9-7 by Barron-Zamora and Le.
