SACRAMENTO (2-18) - Cosumnes River finished up a two match homestand as they hosted Modesto Junior College in Big 8 Conference-South Division play. The Pirates won four of the six singles matches that were played and won 6-3 over the Hawks.

In their last match, the Hawks lost 9-0 to Fresno City College at Sacramento in Tuesday while the Pirates won 9-0 over Porterville Junior College in Modesto on Tuesday.

The Pirates won four singles matches while the Hawks won two. In the #3 singles match between Angela Hurtado of Cosumnes River and Silena Sierra of Modesto, Hurtado defeated Sierra 6-0, 6-4. In the #1 singles match between Krista Le of the Hawks and Kaylyn Hedstrom of the Pirates, Hedstrom defeated Le 6-2, 6-2. In the #2 singles match between Salma Prasad of Cosumnes River and Pam Costa of Modesto, Costa defeated Prasad 6-1, 6-1. In the #4 singles match between Paola Barron-Zamora of the Hawks and Gabby Soria of the Pirates, Soria defeated Barron-Zamora 6-1, 6-2. In the #6 singles match between Evelyn Bravo of Cosumnes River and Shelly Focha of Modesto, Focha defeated Bravo 6-1, 6-0. The tightest singles match was the #5 singles match between Hannah Dinkins of the Hawks and Ariana Herrera of the Pirates. Dinkins defeated Herrera 6-3, 6-3.

The Pirates won two doubles matches while the Hawks won one. In the #1 doubles match between Hurtado and Le of Cosumnes River and Costa and Hedstrom of Modesto, Costa and Hedstrom defeated Hurtade and Le 8-6. In the #2 doubles match was played by Barron-Zamora and Bravo of the Hawks and Sierra and Soria of the Pirates, Sierra and Soria defeated Barron-Zamora and Bravo 8-0. The tightest doubles match was the #3 doubles match between Dinkins and Prasad of Cosumnes River and Herrera and Focha of Modesto. Dinkins and Prasad defeated Herrard and Focha 9-7.
