Personal:  Crystal’s family includes dad Alfonso, mom Dorene, brother Alfonso and sister Bianca.  She started playing volleyball her freshman year because she did not make the team in middle school. She chose this sport because she wanted to try something new and push herself. She is interested in being either a nurse or a probation officer.  In her spare time she loves hanging out with her friends and she really enjoys shopping with her mom, “We’re pretty much best friends”, she says.

Athletic Highlights:  Most Improved Player her sophomore and junior year, All Conference her senior year, MVP Junior Year Club Team, C.K. McClatchy High School.

Significant Sport Achievement:  Going to playoffs my junior and senior year, and senior year going further in playoffs.

Most embarrassing thing that happened in her sport: At our rival volleyball game in high school we had paint on our faces and during the game a ball hit me and the paint smeared on the ball.

Person she most admires:  My dad: he has always taught me to never give up and has supported me in everything I do. He has shown me that hard work and dedication pay off.

Best Advice ever received:  Be ready to fail, not just once or twice but tons of times. Remember it’s not about how hard you fall, it’s about how you get back up.

Best thing about being a Hawk:  Being able to meet new people, play volleyball, and start her future.
