Yes the Hawks lost in three games but the scores were consistent as Coach Kari Post saw, "The biggest thing I saw was that after the first set we couldv'e got down on ourselves and maybe not have the fight we needed, but we didn't and that's a credit to our ladies that they stayed focused and consistent."

Sac City did get out to a comfy lead in the first game but the Hawks weren't blown out in the 14-25 loss as a couple of unforced errors would have made the score closer. Olivia Sowles led the Hawks with 7 kills in the match followed closely by Hannah Norris with six of the Hawks 22 they had in the match.

Lauren Smith had another fine night with all 20 of the teams assists in the match.

The second game score of 14-25 is deceptive because the Hawks had several leads early on before the Panthers pulled away. The Hawks led as late as 8-7 in the game.

Coach Post knows playing a quality against a team like Sac City is key, "Early in the second set we were passing well and we had some service aces so we were serving well as a team, but then we made some mistakes and they (Sac City) aren't going to give anybody any points so we have to make sure we are earning everything."

Keilani Gaither led the Hawks with 9 digs of the team's 22 on the night.

The third game went to SCC as well this time by a 15-25 score which, while still a loss showed consistancy and an improvement in the score as Post noted, "we went 14, 14, and 15 which shows we didn't give up and did have a slight improvement overall."

CRC falls to 0-3 in Big 8 play and 5-8 overall while SCC stays unbeaten at 12-0 and 4-0 in conference play.

Next up for the Hawks is a match against San Joaquin Delta on Friday at 6:30pm in the CAC here on campus. Delta is 2-1 and tied for fourth in conference play and 8-3 overall.
