CRC Falls to Delta, Hicks Breaks Another School Record

Sacramento, CA - The Hawks took on the San Joaquin Delta College Mustangs at home for a conference match up. Despite a key injury, the Hawks battled tough and fought resiliently despite being short-handed. Ultimately CRC fell in 3 sets to the visiting Mustangs (19-25, 18-25, 18-25). Delta lived up to their #5 ranking as their offense carried them to the victory against the hosting Hawks. 

The defense for the Hawks kept them in the match, as they out dug the Delta 60 to 38. Abigail Hicks picked up 15 digs bringing her season total to 460. Natasha Malana held the previous record from the 2011 season. This is the 6th school record which Abigail Hicks has broken. Hicks now owns the school record for digs and aces in a single set, season, and career for the Hawks. 

Up Next - The Hawks (11-15) travel to Diablo Valley College (0-22) to take on the Vikings in the last road game of the season. The Hawks will have a bye on Friday before taking on Sacramento City College in their last home game of the season on 11/19. This match up will also be Sophomore night in which the 5 Sophomores will be recognized.
