Hawks Sweep Vikings, Pick up 12th Victory

Pleasant Hill, CA - The Hawks traveled to Diablo Valley College for their last road conference game of the 2019 season. The Hawks started slowly, committing 13 errors in the first set. After a pep talk from Head Coach Kari Post Nahlen, the Hawks recovered to dominate in the second and third sets. The first set saw the Hawks win 27-25 after hitting negative. For the second and third sets, the Hawks combined to outscore the Vikings 50-23. 

Deziree McKee, a sophormore from Franklin High School in Elk Grove CA, led the Hawk offense with 11 kills on 17 swings. Taryn Oberle and Miah Williamson both contribted 7 kills apiece. Abigial Hicks once again anchored the Hawk backline with 16 of the team's 63 digs. Anna Thomas (11) and Isabella Bugarin (10) both contributed double-digit totals in digs towards the Hawk defense. 

Up Next - The Hawks (12-15) host Sacramento City College (8-20) on Tuesday for their last matchup of the season. Earlier in the season, the Hawks took the victory as CRC traveled to Sac City. This marks the third season in a row that CRC has ended their season with a matchup against the Panthers. CRC has won the last match every year during Coach Nahlen's tenure. Game time will be at 6:30 PM with the match taking place in the Main Gym (CAC-100).
