Hawks Win Thriller At Home Behind Pair of 15 Kill Efforts

Sacramento, CA - The Hawks returned home to take on a familiar foe in cross-town rival Sacramento City College. Cosumnes River College earned their 12th victory on the season with a five set win against the Panthers (16-25, 25-18, 29-31, 25-13, 15-9). The offense got back on track earning 55 kills while hitting .223 on the match. Miah Williamson and Aija Redding both tallied 15 kills to pace th Hawk offense. Williamson hit an astounding .480 on 25 total attempts, with Redding hitting a strong .278 on 36 attempts. Both Giovanna Parino (26) and Grace Maddock (24) posted over 20 assists during the match. Together, the Hawks combined for 55 kills, a .223 hitting percentage, and 55 assists. Grace Maddock chipped in 3 service aces followed by Miah Williamson's 2 assists. 

The defense held strong for a majority of the match combining for 85 digs, and 27 total blocks. Five Hawks contributed double digit totals in digs during the match. Libero, Victoria Espinoza paced the Hawks with 19 digs. Right behind Espinoza was Grace Maddock (17 digs), Kenize Nies (15 digs), Aija Redding (14 digs), and Giovanna Parino (11 digs). The frontline for the Hawks stayed active with 7 solo blocks and 20 assisted blocks during the five sets. Micah Stinson was a force up front with 4 solo blocks, and 6 assisted blocks. Maram Mahfouz tallied 2 solo blocks and 7 assisted blocks. Miah Williamson (1 solo, 3 assisted), Maddy Motta (2 assisted), and Aija Redding (2 assisted) also contributed to the strong front for CRC. The defense for CRC held the Panthers to a .096 hitting percentage and only 40 kills.
