Hawks Pick Up 15th Victory, Down Vikings

Sacramento, CA - The Hawks hosted the Vikings of Diablo Valley College for the second round of conference play. Due to DVC having gym renovations, the Hawks were technically the visiting team despite the game being held in theire home gym. CRC took the court looking to sweep the season series against the Vikings. The Hawks combined to hit a strong .299 on the match with an impressive .429 hitting percentage in the first set. The offense was spread around with Miah Williamson hitting a .562 with 10 kills. Aija Redding tallied 8 kills to help carry the offense for the Hawks. Maram Mahfouz had a strong game with 6 kills on 10 swings resulting in a .600 kill percentage. To help supplement her offense, Miah Williamson also added 5 service aces along with 4 from Aija Redding. 

The defense continued their solid play with 10 blocks (2 solo, 8 assisted). Williamson paced the Hawks with 4 assisted blocks, as she added to her state leading 98 total blocks! Maram Mahfouz joined in with 2 assisted blocks of her own. Along with her offensive contributions, Aija Redding set the tone with 19 digs for CRC. Victoria Espinoza once again tallied a double digit dig total with 14 digs. This makes Espinoza's 14th game with double digit dig totals, and currently stands 15th in state in total digs.

Kills - 213 (25th in state; 5th for middles)

Kill % - .370 (9th in state)

Service Aces - 55 (6th in state)

Total Points - 329 points (6th in state)

Up Next - The Hawks (15-8) continue their homestand with a matchup against American River College (18-6). In the last matchup, the Hawks were burned by the outside hitter of ARC, so they look to slow her down this go round. Fans are not allowed at any home games.
