This Week: The #13 seed Hawks will take on the #4 seed Sierra College Wolverines in the second round of the CCCAA Volleyball Championship. The second round starts on Tuesday and the Hawks/Wolverines match-up is at 7:30 pm.

Scouting the Wolverines: The Wolverines finished the regular season with a 25-4 record. They were co-champions of the Big 8 Conference with a 14-2 record in conference play. Taylor Stolz led the Wolverines in kills with 452. Jordyn Deter leads the Wolverines with 10.85 assists per set.

Scouting the Hawks: The Hawks had a 16-12 overall record and were fourth in the Big 8 Conference with a record of 8-8. Abigail Siever led the Hawks in kills with 182. Ella Cline leads the Hawks with 4.51 assists per set.

Last Time Out: The two teams played each other this season on two occasions – once on September 25^th at Clark Court and once on October 25^th in Rocklin. The Wolverines won both matches 3-0.

The Hawks and Wolverines have seven common opponents – American River College, Diablo Valley College, Folsom Lake College, Modesto Junior College, Sacramento City College, San Joaquin Delta College and Santa Rosa Junior College. The Hawks had a 8-6 record against those opponents while the Wolverines had a 12-2 record against those opponents.

About The Coaches:
Kari Nahlen has been the head coach at Cosumnes River for the last nine seasons. Prior to Cosumnes River, she was head coach at Pasadena City College in 2015 and was assistant coach at Pasadena City in 2013 and assistant coach at Citrus College in 2012.

Alanna Whitnack is in her fifth year as head coach of the Wolverines.
