Now in his ninth year as the Dean of Kinesiology, Health & Athletics and Athletic Director at Cosumnes River College, Collin Pregliasco brings over 20 years of experience in intercollegiate athletics, including 18 years within the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A).
Under Pregliasco’s leadership, CRC Athletics has experienced record levels of academic and programmatic success. The department has achieved 11 consecutive semesters with a cumulative GPA above 3.00, a testament to the strong academic culture fostered among student-athletes. He was a prime contributor in securing the funding and support for the $1.6 million CRC Beach Volleyball Complex, which officially opened in 2024, and implemented livestreaming for all home contests, significantly enhancing fan engagement and program visibility.
Pregliasco also reallocated departmental resources and budget to expand athletic opportunities, leading to the successful addition of Men’s Swimming and Beach Volleyball as new intercollegiate programs, key milestones that strengthened CRC’s athletic offerings and student engagement.
He was recognized nationally as the 2021–2022 NACDA Athletic Director of the Year, honoring his outstanding contributions to collegiate athletics. He has also prioritized student success and innovation by creating student-athlete course enrollment workshops, developing online progress reports, and launching a comprehensive early alert and intervention program to support academic achievement and retention.
Beyond CRC, Pregliasco has been an active leader within the 3C2A and The Big 8 Conference, having served as Big 8 Conference President during the 2020-2021 academic year, served on the Big 8 Executive Board from 2019-2022, and currently serving as the Chair of the Big 8 Conference Constitution Committee.
Before joining CRC, Pregliasco served as the Associate Athletic Director of Administration and Communications at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where he oversaw the administration of 15 intercollegiate teams. His responsibilities included NCAA compliance, marketing and development, sports information, and overall athletic administration.
Prior to UC Santa Cruz, he spent eight years at Foothill College in Los Altos, CA, where he served as Assistant Athletic Director, Head Softball Coach, and Kinesiology Instructor. Under his leadership, the Foothill Owls achieved the highest winning percentage in program history (.676). Over eight recruiting classes, he coached 32 scholar-athletes and 37 All-Coast Conference players. He was also a key contributor to the design of Foothill College’s $2.5 million softball and soccer facility, which was named the 2011 ASBA National Facility of the Year.
While coaching at Foothill, Pregliasco was deeply involved in the 3C2A and 3CFCA, serving as the Coast Conference Softball Representative from 2009 to 2015, as well as holding key roles on the 3C2A State Softball Tournament Committee and the 3C2A Softball Sophomore Showcase Committee.
Earlier in his career, he coached at Mission College, as well as coaching field hockey, girls’ soccer, and softball at Prospect High School in Saratoga, CA. Additionally, he gained experience working with the NFL as a photo production assistant for Super Bowl XLIX and Super Bowl 50.
Pregliasco holds a Master of Science in Sports Management from American Public University and both a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts in Child and Adolescent Development from San Jose State University.
He and his wife, Jamie, an elementary school teacher, live in Folsom with their two children, Chase and Peyton.
