SACRAMENTO (1-25) – Cosumnes River opened the 2019 season as they hosted Shasta College. The Hawks won the first of the two games series with the Knights 8-2.

Cosumnes River finished the 2018 season with a 19-21 record while Shasta finished the season with a 17-23 record.

The Hawks' offense came to life with contributions coming throughout the lineup. Griffin Selby had three hits, two of which were doubles, and two RBIs. Alex Crouch, Burle Dixon, Brett Graber and JD Mico each had two hits. Dixon had three RBIs and Crouch and Mico each had one RBI. Greg Creamer and Dean Lucas each had a hit. Lucas also had one RBI.

Nic Wilson, Kyle Galart, Brian Frieitas, and Ethan Torres each had time pitching. To end the game, Clay Duval had a terrific play at third base.

Galart got the win for the Hawks.

The next game for the Hawks is tomorrow as they finish their series with Shasta. First pitch is at 1 pm.
