Hawks take Game 1 of series

The Hawks traveled down to Visalia on Friday morning for game 1 of a 3 game series against host College of the Sequoias. Friday's contest saw Freshman Lakeal Morris (Folsom HS) get his first start in his collegiate career this afternoon as a position player and Morris made the most of it by going 4x5 with a double and 3 RBI's leading the way for the Hawks. CRC (5-4, 0-0 Big 8) defeated COS 19-10 on wild day for Morris and the young Hawks. The team collected a season high 21 total hits against the COS Giants pitching and captialized on the Giants 7 fielding errors on the day.

Freshman Bryson McArn (Pleasant Grove HS) stayed hot going 3x4 with a double, Sophomore Brett Graber (Capital Christian HS) was 3x4 with a triple, 3 RBI's. Freshmen Joshua Kerin and Jack Painter (Davis HS) each collected two hits on the day as well. Freshman Troy Rice (Capital Christian HS) collected the win in relief going 5 1/3 innings of work. 

 
The Hawks have a quick turn around going to Game 2 of the series which is slated for Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm (pst).
