Delta's dominate pitching too much for Hawks...

A cold front was headed to the valley on Friday, so Thursday both head coaches decided to move up the 3rd game of the series to Friday instead of Saturday's forecast of heavy off and on rain. The Hawks (9-10, 2-4 Big 8) unfortunately never answered the call and lost not only the game 10 to 2 but the series to Delta JC. The Mustangs pitching staff was just too much for the young Hawks. CRC struck out a season high 19 times on the day, while only putting together 7 hits and 2 runs which came in the 3rd inning. Freshman Gabriel Ramirez (Capital Christian HS) singled in 2 runs in the top half of the 3rd inning and that would be the only runs the Mustangs would allow on the day.

Freshman Alan Garcia (Sheldon HS) got the start and kept the game close in the first four innings of work. Tied 2-2 going into the bottom of the 5th the Mustangs put up 3 runs, 1 run, and 4 runs to cap off the contest against the Hawks.

The Hawks return to action for a 3 game series vs. Modesto JC starting this Tuesday at 2:30 pm @ Conway Field.
