Tuesday in the Big 8 always means the start of a new series and with that brought the number 1 team in conference play Modesto JC Pirates. The Hawks (9-11, 2-5 Big 8) did not execute on the mound and in the field for the teams third straight loss in conference play. The Hawks put three runs on the board in the bottom of the second inning. When Freshman Ezekiel Cruz (Folsom HS) drove in 3 runs on a two strike, two out double down the right field line. Unfortunately that would be the bulk of the offense for the Hawks on the day. Surrendering seven un-answered runs in the next six innings of the ball game. Freshman Troy Rice (Capital Christian HS) got the start and worked into the 5th inning for third straight start this season. However, four costly errors in the 5th cost the Hawks the lead and the game.
